How does one become an SEC Football Official? Wilbur Hackett has spent some time on a football field. First as a linebacker for the University of Kentucky then as a young Kentucky high school football official, Wilbur Hackett was connected to the game of football. Wilbur moved into college football officiating working in the Mid-South Conference then later for the Conference USA before moving on to the Southeastern Conference where he currently works as an umpire on Matt Austin’s crew.
